The National Coordinator of the National Disarmament Demobilisation and Reintegration Committee- NDDRC in the person of Fai Yengo Francis on Wednesday, 18 Novemeber 2020 installed the newly-appointed Assistant National Coordinator of the Committee, Prof. Lieutenant-Colonel Ekosso Lysonge Francis.
Prof. LTC Ekosso born on October 7, 1974 was appointed by President Paul Biya on 2 September 2020 following a presidential decree No. 2011/408 of 9 December 2011.
The installation ceremony which took place at the headquarters of the NDDRC headquarters in Yaounde saw the presence of administrators of the committee as well as military officials who were present to witness the ceremony.
Following the portfolio of the Deputy National Coordinator, as read by his boss Fai Yengo Francis, LTC. Prof. Ekosso was Chief of Division in the National Fire Brigade at Mimboman and has had some reputable 20years serving the government and the military in different capacities.
The intellectual taking up office as Deputy national Coordinator with a heavy rank in the army, is a holder a B.A in Bilingual letters from the University of Buea, Master’s Degree in Risk and Disaster Management from the Atlantic International University, and a PhD in Public Administration with a major in Risk and Disaster Management from Charisma University. The humble intellectual in military uniform is alongside his professorial title gained from the Copperstone University in Zambia is a Certified Expert in Defence Management and a graduate from the Paris War College. Lieutenant-Colonel Ekosso wears the academic title of a Professor in Risk Management.
Thrilled by the qualifications and the competence of the man appointed to assist him, the National Coordinator of NDDRC, Fai Yengho Francis said the appointment of LTC. Prof Ekosso is an added impetus to the achievements of the NDDRC which is soon seeing its second anniversary.
“I call on you to use your operational experience to cement the DDR on the field. Invest your energy and join your efforts so that together with all our collaborators we should, without fear or complex and very far from politics and all sorts of flimsy distractions, materialize the dream of an orderly reintegration of youths…” said Fai Yengho Francis in his speech as the National Coordinator.
On his part, LTC. Prof Ekosso after installation, acknowledged the burden that will be on his shoulders but reassured his determination to working relentlessly to make NDDRC better.
“We are doing a very detailed scientific analysis of it and it is not only the matter of the ex-fighters but those who have ideological inputs into these crises; from the extreme north to the South West and North West. Those once have to lay down their ideological arms and we will start from there because they are the once who instigate it all. They are also dressed in jackets and ties like you and I. They are all over the place. It is not only the children who have been sent to lose their lives” said LTC. Prof. Ekosso, the Deputy National Coordinator.
The event ended with celebrations and words of encouragement from participants as well as blessings given to Ekosso by his fellow Sawa people who wished him well in his mission.
